Friday & Saturday12 & 13 July 2024 - Longton Live Get set for a bumper weekend of live music and entertainment when Longton Live! lights up the village.The very best of local musical talent will perform at 15 venues across the Longton over Friday and Saturday, 12 and 13 July. This year’s event sees an incredible line-up of music including pop, rock, punk, acoustic, R&B, soul, reggae, 1920s, French café music, gospel and jazz. There’s also choirs, a saxophonist, and a barbershop harmony ensemble for crowds to enjoy.As if that wasn’t enough, it’s not just about the music, with dance, magic, comedy, drama and poetry performances to look forward to too. Saturday 2 June - Annual Family Fun Day Longton VM's annual family fun day promises a jubilant celebration with an array of activities catering to all ages. The event embraces nostalgia with traditional delights such as tombola and target bowls while injecting modern flair with glitter tattoos and a human fruit machine. Sports enthusiasts can engage in tennis matches or test their aim with target bowls. Music fills the air courtesy of Katy B, adding rhythm to the festivities. Meanwhile, the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked treats from the cake stall beckons, complemented by refreshing beverages including tea, coffee, and a bar serving up cool delights like ice cream. Saturday 22 June - Royal Ascot… A Day At The Races Enjoy a live day at the races on the giant screen in the comfort of our main lounge with easy access to the bar and spend time in the company of other convivial punters hoping to have a lucky day out. This proved to be a winner last year and we fully expect another race for tickets, which this year are coming in at £12 (Member £10) including afternoon buffet tea. Doors open 1.00pm First race The Chesham Stakes at 2.30pm, followed later by the big race of the day, the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes with prize money of £1,000,000.
